Big Day for Bug

Yesterday was a big day for Bug. He started the morning with Tae Kwon Do testing. He did great and achieved his green belt. He is now moving up to the advanced class for kids his age… Fairy is going to tag along with him. I don’t have it in me to spend 4 nights a week at different TKD classes.

After his testing we hurried over to his last t-ball game of the season. He had a fun time and is planning to play again next year… eager for coach pitch instead of the tee.

Princess Camp 2009

I’m having issues with my camera… everything is turning out very, very grainy… especially indoors. Grr… this something I need to figure out… but anyway, here are some shots from Fairy’s last week at Princess Camp. The Camp is held at her dance studio. She has a blast and next year Pixie will get to join her!

Some Highlights from the Week

Pixie woke up one morning asking for earrings. Two days later she was still asking so we decided to give it a try. She did great. Not a peep out of her while they did it and she has been taking good care of them. She is very excited about having earrings.

Fairy had her second dance recital. As with most things, it was amazing to watch the difference a year makes in the kids’ abilities. She enjoys being out on the big stage. I have no idea where she gets that from!

Bug started t-ball and had his first game this week. He is really enjoying it and it is fun to be on the sidelines watching. Such a summer thing to do!

We’ve Got Some New Belts Around Here

This past weekend both Bug and Fairy tested up to new ranks in Tae Kwon Do. They both did a great job. Bug has been promoted to Orange Belt/7th GUP. Fairy has been promoted to Gold Belt/8th GUP.

Congrats A!

‘A’ had his first testing for Tae Kwon Do last night. He did awesome and earned his yellow belt! One of the teachers (not his normal one) told us that he has never seen a young student do that well in all his years of testing and ‘A’ was his first to recieve a perfect score. The best part was that you could truly see how much A enjoyed it. He took it very seriously and is sooo proud of his accomplishment.

During testing the kids have to break a board which was really cool. I was taking a video of it but my camera memory card maxed out just before he hit the board. AHHH!

Ninja, Ninja, Samurai

‘A’ was looking at our blog and wondering where his Tae Kwon Do photos were… ummm… just hadn’t gotten to posting those yet. Unfortunately I don’t really have any good ones. So here is one for now and I will be working on getting some that are actually in focus. LOL… bad lighting, quick movements and holding a wiggly ‘B’ on my lap leads to some pretty sad shots.

He started TKD up again this June after a brief 5 week trial right around his 4th birthday. It was worth the wait! He loves it and is sooo on task. We are also using a different martial arts center and his Master is awesome with the young kids. It is everything I could hope for in an extracurricular. He keeps the kids on task, demands respect, offers tons of positive reinforcement, handles the problem kids with the patience of Job and keeps the activities totally appropriate and fun for the age he is working with (3-6).

Princess Camp

It is so exhausting being a Princess!

‘L’ had Princess Camp last week at her dance school. Each day was focused on a different Princess, they got to wear dress up clothes, they did a craft, an outdoor activity, had a snack and learned a special ‘Princess Dance.’ She had a lot of fun but was exhausted by the end. The families got to come for the last 10 minutes to watch their dance of the day and many of the girls were yawning away. They were all sooo cute.

Dressed up for Mulan Day.
