Kid Made Memory Game

For this week’s Unplugged Theme ‘square’ each of the kids made their own memory game. I printed out a sheet with 20 2″ wide squares (click here to download a template) on a piece of card stock.

The kids colored a picture in each square. I then photo copied the page onto another sheet of card stock and we cut out all the squares.

The girls have really enjoyed playing Memory lately and playing with their own cards has been extra fun!

What an awesome and totally cute idea. They look like they turned out great. It would be cool to Mod Podge them onto little wooden squares or something. (Not that I have ever Mod-Podged, but I keep looking for an excuse to go buy some.)

  2. Meg says:

Nice Dragons! I’m wondering what the little one drew!

  3. Those turned out great! My son likes playing memory card games and the on-line memory games, but I never thought of having him make his own set.

  4. Michelle says:

Pixie girl basically scribbled different colored dots in each square. I ended up helping her making a few actual pictures based on what she told me she wanted. A turtle, a birdie, etc.

  5. Michelle says:

Tina – I thought about laminating them… but playing with mod-podge would be fun too… hmm.

  6. Kathy says:

Those are great! I used my home inkjet photo printer to print out two copies of a full sheet of wallet-size photos — an assortment of photos of home, pets, friends, family, and favorite places to visit — and laminated those, then cut them out to make a personalized memory game for my daughter.

  7. Michie says:

That’s a cute project. I’ve been wanting to make a homemade memory game for awhile, for no particular reason. I like your take on it!

  8. Dayna says:

This is such a great idea…especially for those days when the snow has us home bound. I think I could use family photos and make a Guess Who version too. Thanks for the great idea!

  9. Dayna says:

im loving your book lists..I will definitely be back again. I have you book marked. Have you checkd out planetesme? She has great book recommendations. I hope to head out to the library this week and get back to my own list. Feel free to click on my side bar – best of bag pick and see which books we have enjoyed!

  10. Michelle says:

I think my Pixie girl would love a Memory set with family photos. Thanks for the great idea ladies.

Dayna – glad you enjoy the book list. I will stop by when I get a chance and take a look a your book lists too.

  11. Gammy says:

Great idea. It would also be great fun to color full page pictures and cut them into squares to make a puzzles. Although, after our recent puzzle mishap, perhaps puzzles aren’t such a good idea!
